Top 5 NBA teams for the 2019-20 Season

With all the major dominoes having fallen, the entire NBA power structure has been rearranged. There are now multiple title contenders and these are my top 5.

1. Los Angeles Clippers

Having acquired both Kawhi Leonard and Paul George this two headed monster is seriously scary. When considering this team also has Patrick Beverley and Lou Williams this is a very strong top 4 players. Having legendary coach Doc Rivers only solidifies this squad at the top.

2. Los Angeles Lakers

Some Lakers fans might be disappointed that the team failed to acquire Kawhi Leonard, but after trading for Anthony Davis and signing multiple quality veterans to go with a fully rested Lebron James, this team is nothing to scoff at.

3. Milwaukee Bucks

Being able to keep your starting core through an offseason this crazy speaks volumes about this team’s belief that they can win a title together. Also having a generational talent like Giannis Antetokounmpo is a good place to start.

4. Philadelphia 76ers

Despite losing Jimmy Butler and J.J. Redick, this team is still in a very good spot after acquiring Al Horford and resigning Tobias Harris. These two veterans will pair nicely with their two young studs Ben Simmons and Joel Embiid. If we can see a fully healthy Embiid, this team can move up this list with ease.

5. Utah Jazz
The Utah Jazz have quietly had one of the strongest free agencies in the entire league so don’t be surprised if they perform well next season. Acquiring Mike Conley and Bojan Bogdanovic to pair with Donovan Mitchell and Joe Ingles creates a good variety of offensive options for the Jazz.

League Parity should be the theme of the upcoming NBA season after most of the league was shaken up and the Warriors’ dynasty seemingly at an end. Also, this list is by no means comprehensive as there are still multiple teams who made good moves and positioned themselves to be contenders.
