Three Takeaways From the First Quarter of the Season

The first quarter of the NFL season is in the books. Some teams have separated themselves from the rest, whether it being undefeated or win-less. Most of the teams appear to be on the same level. Let’s take a look at 3 of my takeaways from the first quarter of the season.

Two Team Race in the AFC

The Patriots and Chiefs are clearly the two best teams in the AFC if not the entire NFL. Patrick Mahomes is playing at a MVP level yet again and the Patriots have the best defense in the NFL. It is hard to not see these two teams meeting up again in the AFC Championship game down the road.

Dolphins are the Worst Team Ever

This years Dolphins team could possibly be the worst team in NFL history. Right now they are a -136 point differential and have been constantly huge underdogs to any team they have faced. They have been outscored 163-26 in 4 games this year. I do not see it getting any better. The Dolphins are in full out tank mode and are looking to shop players for future draft picks.

The NFC is Wide Open

No team has separated itself from the others. The Cowboys, Packers, Rams, Saints, Bears, Seahawks, and 49ers all have 3 wins each. Any one of these teams can beat the others on any given night at any given stadium. The rest of the year is going to be great to watch to see which teams emerge as the best in the conference. The Packers and Cowboys play next week, and we will learn a lot about both teams coming off of a loss.
